It’s about time to go into hiding/studying mode. Midterms are already NEXT week. Might as well get some out the way now instead of cramming at the end.
I’ve been doing some research on jobs in the genetics field. I’m really looking into becoming a genetic counselor. It’s a two year masters program, take a certification test, then it’s off to work. I looked into the schools that offer that program, and there’s only one in Texas, which is in Houston. But the thing is, there’s no financial aid. And it’s a health care school, so they wouldn’t have any kind of sport teams. I was really hoping to play golf so it could help pay for my masters. I also saw Howard University, which is all the way in Washington DC. And I dunno, I just never been that far from everyone. But we’ll see. I’m still looking into it. Instead of being in the hospital, or reserach lab, I’ll actually have like an office type setting and just counseling people about the genetic history and answer questions they’re really concerned about. It’s a good way to help and guide people. Pays 55K to 60K a year, which isn’t too bad. It’s living comfortably.
Just thinking a lot about my future :) I just wanna move back to Austin, get a pad and settle down. But life isn’t that easy, gotta make this money!
